We love working with clients like McKesson, who understand the value of giving back to society. Social good is a concept that we’re passionate about here at SolDesign, so when McKesson called on us to build their McKesson Gives Back site—with a daunting two week deadline—we galvanized our team and made it happen. This involved powering through the weekend and executing 2AM site tests prior to launch, but we pulled it off. Knowing we were working for an honorable cause made the mad dash to site completion well worth the effort.
McKesson is the largest pharmaceutical distributor in the country, distributing one-third of the medicines used everyday. They also offer healthcare information technology systems that replace paper prescriptions and medical records. Further, over 70% of the country’s hospitals use their software and hardware. The work we produce for McKesson runs the full gamut, from app development, to video projects to interactive design and development.
Our McKesson Gives Back work is particularly important to us because it supports the McKesson initiative to offer better health alternatives to physicians and patients. McKesson is giving away $1 million in software to physicians who provide charity care to the needy—in ten cities across the country. Within hours of announcing the giveaway, they had hundreds of media hits on their news release, and their site traffic increased significantly with each passing day.
We can’t overstate our admiration for clients and organizations who make a daily effort to give back—just as McKesson is doing with their McKesson Gives Back Giveaway. Over the next several months, we’ll continue to highlight social good projects we have the privilege of being a part of, and share our stories with you.
